A CHURCH WEDDING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

Trish & Adam were married at the beautiful, tiny, Hollybush Church in Worcestershire, with stunning views over the countryside to the Malvern Hills. I often drive past this church but had never been inside until now – what a treat – it is absolutely lovely. Trish and Adam and their family & friends had decorated the church with lots of pretty flowers in jars, rustic details and other personal touches so it felt really special to them.

They had me there just to photograph the Wedding Ceremony and a few photos afterwards, which it was a pleasure to do. I love to be able to offer Part Day Wedding Photography, as sometimes all you want is photos at the church, or a half day only (we just had a small wedding with afternoon tea when I got married!). Capturing your wedding story with just part day coverage is my specialty - if you would like to find out more about my part day wedding photography options, please ask for my brochure.

I know Trish because she is a manager at Birtsmorton Court wedding venue, so to do her wedding photographs was a huge honour. They had such a lovely sunny August day for it too! Thank you so much for having me there Trish & Adam – huge congratulations! x

Here’s what they said when they saw their photos: “Thank you so much, Gemma!  They are fabulous, and we are so pleased.  Thanks for everything- you have been a star!  With very best wishes, Trish and Adam x”

Here are a few favourites…

If you would like to find out more about my wedding photography options for part day / ceremony only wedding coverage, please do get in touch! I would love to hear your wedding plans x

BIRTSMORTON COURT WEDDING VENUE WORCESTERSHIRE – A GUIDE BY GEMMA WILLIAMS PHOTOGRAPHY

Birtsmorton Court Wedding Venue

BIRTSMORTON COURT WEDDING VENUE:

If you are looking at venues for your wedding, huge congratulations! I’m a local wedding photographer and I have shot at many lovely venues in Worcestershire. My favourite, and probably the one I shoot at the most, has to be the amazing Birtsmorton Court, near Malvern in Worcestershire. This little guide will take you through a wedding day at Birtsmorton Court, and help you decide if it’s the best venue for you…

birtsmorton-court

Birtsmorton Court is a medieval moated manor house, built in the 15th Century, with beautiful gardens and grounds. You can get married in the medieval Great Hall, or outside in the picturesque White Garden. There is also a lovely church in the grounds for church wedding ceremonies. Drinks can then be had on the terrace overlooking the moat and gardens in the summer weather, in the White Garden, or in the Great Hall with a crackling log fire in the winter months. Move to the marquee of the Garden Room for your wedding breakfast, and then party the night away under fairy lights, perhaps watching fireworks from the lake…  It is a beautiful location for a wedding, whatever the time of year! Trish and Sophie and the rest of the team always make sure that everything runs absolutely perfectly – it is always a pleasure to shoot here. If you are looking for a wedding venue, I definitely recommend a visit to Birtsmorton Court – you can contact them here.

Here is how your wedding day at Birtsmorton Court Worcestershire could look, taking you step by step through each part of the day with the aid of photographs to help you imagine your own celebrations…

Getting Ready

On the morning of your wedding, there are a couple of different options for where the bride can get ready. The first option is the Bridal Suite, which is located in the Manor House itself. This beautiful suite is very light and spacious, with a four poster bed, dressing room, comfy sofas, and views over the moat.

birtsmorton-court

Alternatively there is the Garden House, which is located in the grounds. This cottage has two floors and everything you need to get ready with your bridesmaids and close family.

Wedding Ceremony in the Church

The Church on the estate at Birtsmorton Court is very close by, so you don’t need to travel far. It dates back to the 14th Century. Inside, it is really beautiful, and can be decorated to your wishes with flowers etc. It can seat up to 115 guests. It is possible to have a full wedding ceremony or just a blessing here.

Wedding Ceremony in The White Garden

During the warmer months, Birtsmorton Court has the wonderful option of getting married outside, in the White Garden. The White Garden is ideal for an outdoor wedding ceremony, with it’s secret maze entrance, it’s stunning white flowers and complementing shrubs, trees and statues, it’s water feature and pergola. The pergola is a structure which is licensed for marriage ceremonies, so when you get married here, it is a legally binding ceremony, with no need to worry about having to do the paperwork elsewhere! Your guests can be seated around the pergola, and there is no limit to the number you can have. It’s a beautiful setting in which to get married.

Wedding Ceremony in The Great Hall

For the colder months, or for rainy wedding days, you can get married in the impressive Great Hall in the Manor House. This space can hold around 80 guests, and makes for a truly unique atmosphere, with it’s historic features dating back to the 15th Century. The beams, tapestries, fireplace and antique furnishings add to the grandeur. Again, this place is licensed for marriage ceremonies so it’s all signed and sealed!

Confetti Moment

Birtsmorton Court don’t allow paper confetti to be thrown at their venue, but they are very happy for other confetti alternatives such as fresh petals, bird seed, lavender, and bubbles, and they have a couple of specific locations where this is best to be done – along the church path if you are having a church wedding, or by the lake if you are having a ceremony at the house/gardens. I love a good confetti line!

Reception on the Terrace

Then it’s off to your reception, to meet and mingle with all your guests! There are two outdoor locations where your wedding reception takes place – firstly on the terrace of the Manor House overlooking the moat…with the swans gliding by and the beautiful views all around, this will be a delightful start to your celebrations.

Reception in the White Garden

Secondly your wedding reception can move across to the White Garden, with it’s secret maze entrance and it’s beautiful white flowers and water feature. Enjoy this wonderful time with all your family and friends in this amazing location! Your reception is the perfect time for me to get lots of natural photographs of you and your guests enjoying yourselves, without you even realising I’m there. This is a lovely spot for any more ‘formal’ family photographs you may wish to have too.

birtsmorton-court

Reception in the Great Hall

For colder or rainy weddings, The Great Hall is a great space for your wedding reception, as you mingle with your guests amongst the history of your surroundings and are warmed by the roaring log fire. The Birtsmorton team will always be on hand to make sure things are going smoothly, and they are very flexible to accommodate any wishes you may have.

birtsmorton-court

Photographs

As your guests are taken to be seated for the wedding breakfast, we have time to capture some photographs with just the two of you around the amazing grounds of Birtsmorton Court. This is a wonderful time for the two of you to just be together and take in the beautiful surroundings of your wedding day!  There are so many lovely locations for your pictures. I aim to shoot in a relaxed and natural style, so that you can just enjoy your wedding bubble and look back on photographs that reflect the real you and your real happiness on your wedding day.

Wedding Breakfast in the Marquee

The marquee is light, airy and elegant, and is a great space to decorate how you wish for the style of your wedding. It can seat up to 160 guests, and during the summer months the side panels can be opened up to let the sunshine in. Birtsmorton Court works with two catering partners who can offer you a delicious choice for your wedding breakfast.

Dancing and Evening Fun

The Garden Room adjoins the marquee, so the joining doors can be opened up when it’s time for guests to spill through for the evening entertainment. With cosy bench seating, a dedicated dancefloor for a DJ or live band, and a brand new bar right nearby, this is a fantastic space for all your partying. Guests who would prefer to sit and chat can stay in the adjoining marquee and still enjoy the music. Take your spot on the dance floor for your first dance under the fairy lights, and then get all your guests to pile in with you as you dance the night away! There is also the opportunity to watch fireworks by the lake for a truly spectacular end to your amazing wedding day.

Curradine Barns Wedding Photography

Curradine-Barns-Wedding

Wedding at Curradine Barns

Emma & Ben were married at rustic venue Curradine Barns in Worcestershire in May. Their wedding date was the same as the Royal Wedding of Meghan & Harry, and we watched their ceremony on Emma’s phone as Emma was getting ready for her own wedding! Emma & Ben’s wedding was much better than the Royals’ though. They definitely had more fun! They had beautiful flowers by Jenny Fleur, and Emma had two dresses, changing in to a shorter tea-length dress for their ceilidh in the evening. She teamed this with sparkley Kate Spade pumps! Hair & makeup was by Sally Logue & Rebecca Frances, and their cake was by Kimmy Loves Cake. Music during the reception was provided by Nero String Quartet, and their ceidlh was expertly called by Knitter’s Jig – it was such a hot day but the dancefloor was packed with guests spinning and stripping the willow! Here are a few favourite pictures from their wedding. Huge thanks to Emma & Ben for having me there, it was such a fab day! We have just designed their wedding album so it has been really lovely to put their favourite pictures into the book.

” Thank you so much, you were the best wedding photographer ever and have captured so many precious moments for us to cherish over the years. We have already poured over them so many times and shed a few tears!”

Amazing! If you are looking for a wedding photographer, please do take a look at my website and get in touch. I love fun weddings like this one! Thanks again to Emma & Ben x

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT BIRTSMORTON COURT:

Sophie & James were married in September at the stunning moated manor house venue Birtsmorton Court in Worcestershire. You may recognise Sophie – she is the weddings manager at Birtsmorton Court and so it was a real honour to photograph her own wedding! Sophie sees many, many lovely weddings at Birtsmorton Court, so she had lots of amazing ideas for how her own day would go. I absolutely love her styling, her flowers and her colour scheme. There’s plenty of inspiration for your own wedding in the photos that follow! The most important thing for her and James though was that they just wanted to be able to relax and have fun with their family & friends. They certainly did that – it was the most fabulous day! With the sun shining warmly on the terrace reception by the moat, and the continental sounds of an accordionist drifting through the merry laughter, chatter and bubbles, it was like being in another world – what wonderful memories. Sophie’s gorgeous dress is ‘Latin’ by Nicola Anne Bridal, from The Bridal Room Broadway. Hair and makeup is by Anna White. The spectacular flowers are by Sally Gill, filled with red and peach blooms, and the cake is by Sophie’s clever mum. The wild dancing in the evening was fueled by music from the always-excellent Chip Shop Boys. These guys really know how to party! It was the best day and I LOVED every minute of it – massive congratulations to Sophie & James, and huge thanks for having me there to capture it all x

Here’s what they said when they saw their photos:

“Hey Gemma,

We’re just coming to the end of our most amazing honeymoon and the best three weeks of our lives. Our wedding was the most perfect day for us and we can’t thank you enough for your presence on the day. It felt like we had a friend around taking photos and you made us feel really comfortable in front of the camera. We love all of these amazing pictures… We’ve been amazed at how you’ve managed to capture everyone who came to the day in such a lovely way and we are absolutely delighted with all of the shots of the two of us as well. We’d always said that if we got one nice one to frame, that’s all we need. Now, choosing which ones we put in a frame will be the difficult bit! So thank you, thank you, thank you, these pictures have just topped off our absolutely perfect wedding day, we’ll look back at them with the fondest memories.

With our very best wishes xx”

So without further ado, here are some favourites from Sophie & James’s amazing wedding day x

Couple Shoot in Worcestershire

Worcestershire-Engagement-Shoot

Engagement Shoot Photos

Emma & Rob are getting married soon! We met up in the summer for their pre-wedding Engagement Shoot, on a countryside walk in Worcestershire with their dog, Teddy. Emma & Rob were pretty worried about having their photos taken, as many people are, but we had a great time with plenty of laughter and very quickly all their camera fears went away. Teddy the dog turned out to be a natural as well! Emma & Rob loved their photos and will be using them for their ‘Save the Dates’ and other wedding stationery. If you are engaged and are getting married soon, it’s a great time to do a couple shoot – please do get in touch if you would like more information! Engagement Shoots can be included in my wedding packages or can just be stand-alone Couple Shoot bookings, whatever suits you best. Here are some favourites from Emma & Rob’s shoot… I’m looking forward to their wedding now! x

DEER PARK HALL WEDDING VENUE

Emma & Rob were married in July at Claines Church, Worcestershire, and went on to celebrate at fabulous Deer Park Hall. I love this venue – it has absolutely stunning views of the Malvern Hills, and real deer roaming in the grounds! Nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, it used to be cattle sheds on a farm but has now been converted into a unique country house wedding venue. Emma & Rob had a yellow colour theme for their wedding, with yellow dresses for the bridesmaids, and yellow bouquets and floral decorations – so bright and cheerful, and perfect for the sunny summer’s day. I will let the pictures tell the story – congratulations Emma & Rob! x

If you are looking for a wedding photographer for your Deer Park Hall Worcestershire wedding, please do take a look at my website and get in touch! I would love to photograph more weddings at Deer Park Hall – what a beautiful setting. And I think that has to be the best sunset I have ever seen!

Whitbourne Hall Wedding Photography

Whitbourne-Hall-Worcestershire-Wedding

Whitbourne Hall Wedding Venue

I am so happy to be sharing Felicity & Rob’s wedding on the blog today! It was such a fun day, totally epic and fantastic, with love and laughter from beginning to end. Felicity & Rob were married in May, at Edvin Loach church, and then went on to celebrate at Whitbourne Hall, Worcestershire. There was a farming theme to the day, with tractors galore, and a pitch-fork guard of honour! The star of the show was Rob’s restored John Deere tractor, in the wedding colours of green and yellow of course. There was a tractor convoy from the church to Whitbourne Hall, which looked amazing as it snaked across the countryside. The table names also continued the farming theme, being named after different crops. I loved the bride’s green shoes, and the groomsmen’s green spotty ties (also worn by Felicity & Rob’s two dogs, Beau and Von, who made a guest appearance!). Felicity & Rob, and their family & friends, put so much heart and soul into making a day that was perfect, and so true to themselves, so full of happiness and personality. It was a real joy to photograph it all – thank you Felicity & Rob for having me there! x
