A COTSWOLDS COUNTRYSIDE WEDDING

Zoe & Will were married at beautiful Cotswolds wedding venue Kingscote Barn in Gloucestershire. Their wedding took place in August, on a hot summer’s day with blue skies and sunshine aplenty. Zoe got ready at Monks Mill Barn in the morning, with her bridesmaids and family. Her makeup was by Emily Tarrant and hair by Louise Alway. Flowers were by Sorori Florist. The groomsmen got ready at home. Everyone then gathered at the picturesque Cotswold church at Long Newnton, near Tetbury, and the wedding ceremony commenced. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take pictures in the church, but I had a kind word with the vicar and he then permitted me to take a few. I was very glad that I had secured this opportunity as I feel it is so important to capture the special moments of the wedding ceremony, whilst still remaining completely discreet at the back of the church (being invisible is my speciality!). Then we all got covered in confetti and journeyed to our location for the wedding reception, Kingscote Barn.

KINGSCOTE BARN WEDDING VENUE

Kingscote Barn is a stunning restored 17th Century Cotswold stone barn set in the middle of rolling countryside. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and lots of rural charm, it has an impressive main barn for your wedding breakfast and celebrations, with a vaulted ceiling and viewing gallery. There is also an adjoining barn area with a bar for guests to mingle in. The staff are incredibly helpful and there is a very high level of service – I can definitely recommend this venue if you are still looking for somewhere for your own wedding. A warm welcome awaited us, with drinks and canapes, lovely rustic decorations, plenty of vintage lace, and music from The Hot Shots band. The beautiful wedding cake, made of five tiers with lace detailing, was by Curtis & Co Cakes. After the wedding breakfast (expertly catered by Strawberry Fields), there were speeches and then a sunset photo opportunity in the cornfield – this ‘golden’ light is my favourite! The band rocked the evening celebrations and everyone had a blast! It was great to work with The Bristol Wedding Film Company at this wedding again too.  So here are a few favourites to capture the day – huge congratulations to Zoe & Will, it has been amazing to work with you, thank you so much for having me! Best wishes x

If you are looking for a wedding photographer for your Kingscote Barn Wedding, or at any other venue in the Cotswolds, then please do take a look at my website and get in touch! I love rustic barn backdrops and my natural style of photography is really suited for these countryside venues. I’d love to hear from you!

Elmore Court Wedding Photography

Clare & Tom were married in July at Cranham Church in Gloucestershire, and went on to celebrate at Elmore Court, a stunning Edwardian country house with a new sustainably-constructed building especially for dining and dancing, called ‘The Gillyflower’. Clare & Tom had previously had an Engagement Shoot, and it was fantastic to see them both again on the day of their wedding, after we had been talking about it excitedly for so long! Clare described the theme of their wedding as ‘modern boho’, inspired by a love of flowers, and they wanted a day that was relaxed but glamorous. They certainly achieved this – Clare looked gorgeous in her wedding dress by Intuzuri, shoes by Love Art Wear Art, chapel-length veil and flower crown, and Tom looked very dapper in his midnight blue tuxedo from Pakeman Catto & Carter with velvet bow tie. Clare’s hair is by Tom Vining from Love The Salon and makeup is by Rebecca Frances. The flowers are by Sorori Design and are absolutely incredible – I just love Clare’s bouquet! The cake is also a real delight, by Curtis & Co Cakes. There are so many details about this wedding that are hugely inspirational – for example the wedding stationery, table plan and favours were all designed and made by Clare herself with help from family. They also put so much hard work into making sure that guests were entertained at the reception, with live music and a photobooth, and there were giant balloons from The Giant Balloon Company – a must for our sunset photos later! I also loved that Clare & Tom did their speeches outside in the grounds of Elmore Court, before then going into The Gillyflower for their wedding breakfast and evening fun. Clare changed into a second dress for dancing, by Chi Chi London, and the dancefloor was lit with giant letter lights by Aisle Hire It, as guests partied the night away. This was a completely amazing day and I loved being at Elmore Court – what a fantastic place for a celebration. Big thanks and congratulations to Clare & Tom – wow, what a wonderful wedding! I wish you all the very best for a long and happy future together x

Clare & Tom’s wedding has recently been featured on Love My Dress Blog – pop over there for even more inspiration and information about their day. Clare & Tom wrote a very kind review of my work there, here is what they said:

We saw Gemma’s portfolio when viewing another venue prior to Elmore and we immediately loved her contemporary, creative, relaxed and natural style, plus her exceptional attention to detail. It was easy to see why she is an award winning wedding photographer! The quality of her work is incredible and after meeting Gemma we knew she was ‘The One’. She blended in so naturally on the day, which is exactly what we wanted.”

Their wedding has also been featured by Elmore Court themselves – you can visit this here for lots more ideas. If you are getting married at Elmore Court and are looking for a wedding photographer, I would love to hear from you as it would be a pleasure to shoot more weddings at this fabulous venue!

So, here are just a few of my favourite photographs from Clare & Tom’s beautiful wedding day…
