A Rustic English Country Garden Wedding | Herefordshire Wedding Photography
Hello and welcome to this revisit of a lovely wedding which took place several years ago now. Wilton Castle was one of my favourite wedding venues, but unfortunately they no longer do weddings there. So, if you are looking for a rustic venue with an English country garden, you might like to take a look at some of my other favourite Herefordshire Wedding Venues for some more recent ideas! Thanks x
I am so excited to blog Annike & Andy’s wedding, which took place on that one really hot summer’s day we had on the 26th May! It was such a beautiful day, with a gorgeous couple totally in love, and the most amazingly romantic setting for a wedding ever. The couple were married at Wilton Castle in Herefordshire, which was the perfect backdrop for their rustic English Country Garden theme. They had a marquee from County Marquees, which had all the sides open to let in the summer’s day while the guests were inside, and to let out the atmosphere into the grounds in the evening as people mingled and explored the castle ruins.
Annike’s stunning dress was from White Minx Bridal Boutique, and Annike customised it herself, adding freshwater pearls detailing. The bridesmaids wore wisteria dresses from Ashton Rose. The groom wore a navy Paul Smith suit from Pritchards in Hereford, and a purple knitted tie. The flowers (which were breathtaking) were by Debbie of The Hibiscus Room – ranging from Annike’s beautiful bouquet, to the sprays of flowers on the ends of the chairs, to the table centrepieces and the garlands entwined up the poles of the marquee. The table place settings were adorned with burlap and lavender sprigs (all hand-tied by Annike and her mum!) and the favours were rustic jam pots for the ladies and hip flasks of powerful blackberry vodka for the gentlemen. Guests wrote messages on parcel tags and tied them onto an apple tree which the bride & groom will be planting in their garden afterwards. Annike and Andy had worked so hard to make their wedding a visual feast with all the countryside-themed details, as well as making sure the day was relaxed and fun – and guests could be heard commenting that it was the most lovely wedding they had ever been to.
Huge congratulations to Annike & Andy on their beautiful wedding, filled with sunshine and love and happiness. It really was perfect and such a pleasure to photograph – here are a few (!) of my favourites x
