I’ve had a very busy few weeks, organising my annual styled photoshoot! This year I wanted it to be bigger and better than ever before, and I invited some of the best wedding suppliers in Herefordshire to get involved – what an amazing team we had! (full list below).
My aim in doing the shoot was to showcase Herefordshire’s wedding industry and show that you don’t need to go to the bigger cities for your wedding suppliers, because we have some amazing local talent right here on our doorstep. Herefordshire really does have so much to offer for the perfect wedding! I also wanted to get together some of my favourite suppliers from the summer’s weddings and get the chance to work with them on something really creative where we could all have fun. Another important factor for me was to invite REAL brides (and groom!) from this year’s weddings, rather than use models, as I wanted to keep the shoot looking natural and fresh, in keeping with my photography style, and also to show future brides and grooms that they can look this good in their wedding photographs too!
Mission accomplished on all fronts – we had an AMAZING day, everyone totally enjoyed themselves, and the shoot couldn’t have been more fabulous. The ‘models’ Kelli, Gemma and Dave were stunning, the dresses and headpieces from Lily Oliver Bridal Boutique were gorgeous, the suits from Bill Child Formal Wear were top-notch and the flowers from The Real Cut Flower Garden were perfect. The VW from LoveBus Weddings was gleaming, and the vintage accessories from Lizzie May Vintage really added to the theme, as did the wintery cake and yummy Christmassy sweets from Beccy of Cake Aspirations. The creativity of makeup artist Brooke Price was inspirational, and the hair by Angelina of Bridal Beauty was truly amazing – the looks they created were perfect for the shoot and I was in awe. What a joy to photograph! And all in the wild and romantic surroundings of Wilton Castle – beautiful ruins galore! Even the weather was perfect for us that day – very lucky. (Although we did have to enlist Angelina’s fake snow for one of the shots!). Perkins & Strong Video were behind the scenes filming me at work – video to be revealed soon…!
I really can’t thank everyone enough for their involvement in making this shoot as fantastic as it was. (Especially huge thanks to Sue at Wilton Castle for letting us take over her kitchen!). I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with all of these suppliers again, as well as involving even more of Herefordshire’s wedding industry best – there has already been demand for my styled photoshoots to become more than an annual event!
So, here are the favourites from the day…. to set the scene our couple have eloped together in their VW and have stumbled across the wild, ruined castle… although within the castle there lives a princess bride…
